Second Annual Light It Up Blue at TAMU

Rudder Plaza | April 2nd 6:00PM-8:00PM

Light It Up Blue (LIUB) is a campaign that was started by Autism Speaks in honor of the U.N.-sanctioned World Autism Awareness day. This campaign is aimed at raising awareness about autism and its associated costs. LIUB is observed every April 2nd and is celebrated around the world. Many famous monuments have been lit up blue on this special day, including the Empire State Building in in NYC, the Sydney Opera House in Australia, the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, and the ancient city of Petra in Jordan.

This year, Autism Speaks U at Texas A&M University is hosting its own event in honor of Light It Up Blue, the Second Annual Light It Up Blue at TAMU. The celebration is open to the public and will be held on April 2nd from 6-8 pm in Rudder Plaza, which will be decorated with blue lights. Rudder Fountain will also be lit up blue on this day. There will be live music by a member of Texas A&M's HardChord DynaMix Acappella, Justin DYLN Gilbert, as well as face-painting and several carnival games with prizes for the winners. We will have free pizza from Domino's and free cookies from Tiff's Treats for attendees.
